What our 2025 guide told us...

Pay increases were more common in smaller organisations. 53% of employees reported a pay raise in businesses with 1-200 heads compared to 46% in businesses with over 5,000 heads. Salary increases were often exclusively linked to promotions, with some survey respondents reporting “no pay rises bar promotees”.

It was more common to receive a bonus than a pay rise in the consulting sector, particularly within larger organisations. 67% of respondents in businesses with 10,000+ heads received a bonus. Meanwhile, 48% of those in consultancies with 1-50 employees reported a bonus.

With over half of employees looking for a new role specifically to receive a higher salary, it’s important to benchmark your pay brackets and check in with your team in 2025. Many feel unfairly compensated for the work that they do.
