Williams Racing is an historic British Racing team. They are an active Formula 1 team, with headquarters near Oxford. Following Private Equity investment, the business is on a multi-year transformation journey aiming to re-establish them as a leading force in motor racing.
Our work with Williams Racing
Tarka Talent started working with Williams Racing recently, near the start of 2024. While they don’t normally recruit Strategy or Transformation Consultants, there have been a number of roles where we have been able to support Williams, particularly helping them drive improvements in performance.
We have placed four candidates into the team at Williams Racing so far. Two of these roles were in their Cost Engineering capability, and two helping delivering a Dynamics 365 transformation.
- Cost Engineer (AI Focus) – Headhunted candidate with a background in Mercedes Racing
- Cost Data Engineer – Headhunted candidate from Malta, previous automotive background
- 2 Finance Dynamics Managers – Both candidates headhunted having previously run Dynamics Transformations
Working within a limited candidate pool
Both areas where Williams Racing have looked to engage Tarka have niche skill requirements. Specifically, Cost Engineering, and a D365 Implementation. In both instances, there has been a limited candidate pool with the necessary skillset and relevant experience. Given Tarka’s headhunting approach, we have been able to identify and approach great candidates in both instances.
For both opportunities we had regular check-ins with the internal recruitment team to ensure that all parties were on the same page throughout the process. This ensured that for all roles the candidates accepted the offers made and withdrew from other recruitment processes they had been involved in, resulting in a quick turnaround to the candidates starting.
